What are some similarities and differences between the American and French revolutions?

Similarities: They were both attempts at overthrowing their government, a monarchy. They were both inspired by the enlightenment.

Differences: The French revolution was inspired by the American revolution. The French revolution was much more gruesome than the American revolution. The French revolution ended in an empire while the American revolution ended in a democracy.

These are correct but there are many more similarities and differences. Such as......eAch country revolted against a higher power and the French Revolution was inspired by the American revolution. Just wanted to give you some ideas so you would add more for students to learn.(I am a student myself and thought this would be useful). Thank you!
